Using the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s register of non-compliance, we evaluated the impact of long-time use (>2 years) of our audit tools on the risk of non-compliance when compared to non-member residential aged care services.
As of October 2020, there were 2722 operational residential aged care services. Of these, 141 (5.2%) services have appeared on the non-compliance register during July 2020 to October 2020.
We determined how many of our residential care members with audit tool access over the past two years appeared on the list and calculated the proportion of our members who had a non-compliance. Member numbers were excluded from the total numerator and denominator of the total figures to create a comparative statistic among non-members.
The ratio of these proportions showed that our long-time audit users have an estimated 22.6% lower prevalence of non-compliance than non-members.
